We have done the work
Years behind cameras and inside production. Not research into an industry, but time spent working in one.
Media × Storytelling × Solutions
VisuaCore builds practical workflow solutions for the people who create, manage, preserve and distribute stories — informed by years of working with cameras, storytelling, production and the realities of managing media at scale.

Our origin
Before VisuaCore was a technology company, there was a camera. Years of camera work, production, broadcasting and visual storytelling exposed us to the realities of the media industry — not only the creative side, but the problems behind the work.
Problems with managing media. Problems moving through production. Problems keeping track of equipment and information. Problems preserving valuable material. Problems connecting creative work to the systems needed to deliver it.
Our technology journey did not begin in a software office. It began in the field.
Why VisuaCore
01
Years behind cameras and inside production. Not research into an industry, but time spent working in one.
02
We know what happens before, during and after the camera rolls — including the parts nobody writes software for.
03
We learned technology in order to build solutions for problems we already understood, and used it to build a working platform.
That combination is what makes VisuaCore different.
What we build
We build practical systems for the problems that sit behind media production, management and distribution. These are the kinds of technology we develop — not a catalogue of finished products.
01
Technology for organising, managing, finding and preserving large collections of media. Descriptions that travel with the file, structures that hold up as a library grows, and retrieval that works years after the material was captured.
Demonstrated in VisuAfric
02
Systems that move media through ingest, processing, preview generation, delivery and the workflows around them — so preparing a thousand files is not a thousand times the work of preparing one.
Demonstrated in VisuAfric
03
Technology that makes media, its metadata and large digital collections easier to organise, search and work with. The value of an archive depends on what is known about it and how quickly that can be found.
Demonstrated in VisuAfric
04
Purpose-built platforms for publishing, licensing, distributing and managing digital media — including the commerce, access control and delivery that sit underneath.

Problems we solve
We do not build technology for every industry. We focus on the one we know.
Production engagements commonly commence on a verbal understanding or a message thread, without an executed contract in place before work begins.
Finished masters or raw rushes are frequently handed over before the final invoice has cleared, removing any leverage to collect the remaining balance.
Historical footage and B-roll accumulate across drives and cards with no shared index, so material that was already paid for becomes difficult to find again.
Cameras, optics, drones and audio gear move between crew members and locations without any custody record.
Talent and location consent is often given verbally on set rather than captured in a signed release before the camera rolls.
Incoming footage has no consistent ingest protocol, so every project starts its organising, transcoding and formatting from scratch.
Our approach
01
We start from real experience in media, production and storytelling.
02
We listen to the people doing the work and find where the friction actually is.
03
We use technology to create a practical solution around that problem.
04
We put it into a real environment and learn from what happens.
05
We keep refining it as the work and its needs change.
We do not build technology simply because we can. We build it because a real problem deserves a better solution.
Our solutions
Some problems are being researched. Some solutions are being developed. Some are already built and in use.
Built
A digital media platform built around the challenge of discovering, managing, preserving, licensing and delivering authentic African visual content.
Building
A digital contract and vaulted-delivery tool: agreements executed before production begins, and final files released only once payment clears.
Building
A mobile-optimised talent and location release tool, signed on set before the camera rolls.
Building
A check-in, check-out register for cameras, optics, drones and audio gear, tracking custody as equipment moves between crew.
Exploring
A consistent ingest protocol carrying footage from raw capture through to final master delivery.
Our first major solution
VisuAfric began with a problem we understood personally: authentic African visual content is difficult to find, access and license.
It is a digital media platform built around discovering, managing, preserving, licensing and delivering that content — and the first major proof that the VisuaCore approach produces working software rather than intentions.
Building it required working through:
Our vision
We believe the people closest to a problem should have a voice in building its solution. Media professionals deserve tools designed around the realities of their work.
Sometimes meaningful technology begins with a cameraman asking why we are still doing things this way.
