VisuaCore did not begin in a software office. It began in the field, with a camera, and with problems that nobody appeared to be solving.

Camera work at university, and the years of weddings, events and church productions that followed.
My journey into media began with camera work, learned early and put to use on real assignments almost immediately.
Weddings. Events. Church productions. Different kinds of visual work, each with its own pressure and its own audience. The camera was not a hobby picked up on the side — it became a way of supporting myself and building experience at the same time.

Independent camera work growing into professional production.
What started as individual bookings grew into something closer to a profession. Alongside handheld camera work, I learned to fly and operate a drone, including the DJI Air 2S, which added aerial perspective to the visual storytelling I could offer.
Each new assignment demanded more than the last — better judgment about framing, timing and equipment, not just more hours behind a lens.

Professional broadcast experience, including work connected with Christian Broadcasting Network, The 700 Club and Turning Point International.
That experience eventually took me into professional broadcasting, working with the Christian Broadcasting Network, including production connected with The 700 Club and Turning Point International.
Working at that level exposed me to production standards and team expectations that independent work rarely demands — a different discipline around consistency, deadlines and the realities of broadcast delivery.

Learning that production is not the recording of images. It is the communication of a story.
Camera work taught me that recording an image is not the same as telling a story. You have to understand what is happening, anticipate what comes next, and choose what to show and what to leave out.
That lesson — that a production exists to communicate something, not simply to capture footage — became the foundation for everything that followed.

Recurring problems inside the profession that nobody appeared to be solving.
The more time I spent inside media work, the more I noticed the same problems recurring around it: equipment that was hard to track, footage that was hard to find again, information that lived in memory rather than in any system, agreements that were understood rather than recorded.
These were not failures of any one production. They were patterns — the same friction, showing up in different jobs, that nobody around me seemed to be actively solving.

Learning technology — not to become a software developer, but as another tool for problems already understood.
I began learning technology because I wanted to know whether those recurring problems could be solved differently. Not to become a software developer for its own sake, but because technology looked like another tool in the same professional toolbox the camera already belonged to.
The learning was practical rather than academic — building toward something usable, driven by problems I already understood from the inside.

Applying that technology to a real media problem, and building the first major solution.
VisuAfric became the first place that understanding turned into something built. It started with a problem encountered directly, from the side of the person holding the camera: authentic African visual content is difficult to find, access and license.
I was no longer only using technology to solve small personal problems — I was building a working platform around a real problem in the profession I came from.

A company built to solve more of the problems the industry lives with.
VisuAfric proved the approach could work. VisuaCore is the company built to carry it further — using technology to solve more of the problems the media industry lives with, one understood problem at a time.
I am still a cameraman. That has not disappeared because I learned technology. It is the reason I approach technology differently.
